Meet The Team
Paula Bentley – Managing Director and chief coffee maker!
Paula joined the company in 1985, starting off life as ‘girl Friday’ she mastered the art quickly. Paula soon progressed and became responsible for the Company Accounts. On Phil’s retirement in 2012 Paula took over the role as Managing Director.
As the company continues to grow and develop Paula keeps everyone on their toes ensuring your requirements are delivered on time, on budget and to specification.
Did you know Paula is also a Psychotherapist?
Being an ex-rugby player it’s got to be supporting Buxton Rugby Union Football Club, nothing to do with the social side afterwards!
Ian Dobson – Director (Contracts Manager) and constantly looking for his keys!
AKA Regs on Legs. Ian joined Bentley’s in 2005 and completed his apprenticeship with us. What Ian doesn’t know about the 17th Edition and BS codes, well basically isn’t worth knowing. He likes to keep himself fully up to date with all aspects of the industry, thus ensuring that the company is always able to offer the customer the best of what is out there.
When asking Ian why he loves his job…
I love problem solving! In this job you are problem solving on a daily basis. Very rarely am I defeated and for me that is 100% satisfaction!
Leigh Bywater – Electrician AKA ‘Speedy Gonzales’
The most recent addition to the ‘family’ Leigh was a painter and decorator in a former life. He saw the light and in 2005 began his training to become an electrician. Leigh has settled in very well and the customers love him.
When asking Leigh what things flummox him?…
why can’t Ian find his keys?!
Phillipe Bentley – Consultant AKA ‘The Oracle’ (Supposedly retired!)
Last but by no means least.
Phil and wife Margaret established Bentley’s in 1972, sadly Margaret passed away in 2012. Phil, now retired still keeps his hand in and acts as a consultant. Phil and Margaret built the company up based on integrity and quality. With the company ethos being that of offering a professional and reliable service where the customer and safety come first.
When asking Phil what inspired him to set up his own business….
Whilst working at Ferodo Phil was inundated with requests by the home owner to carry out works for them. Phil took the decision to leave Ferodo and set up P Bentley Electrical. The business quickly grew and expanded in to the commercial and industrial side of the industry.
