We are Electrical Engineers covering Buxton, The High Peak and Derbyshire. We undertake all types of Domestic Installations. No job is too small or too large!
New Build Installations
We offer a full design, supply and installation including all certification of your new property.
The process of installing new cables, circuits and accessories, a full rewire should mean that all parts of the electrical installation are new. We offer a complete service for all types of domestic properties, including any advice on the type of installation you may require.
Does my property need a rewire or partial rewire? If any items listed below exist then the likelihood is yes:
- Cables that are coated in black rubber (phased out in the 1960’s), cables coated in lead or fabric are even older.
- Consumer unit (fuse box) that has a wooden back, cast iron switches and or a mixture of circuit boxes.
- Wall mounted light switches in bathrooms.
- Round pin sockets and round light switches, braided flex hanging from ceiling roses to light fittings, black switches, and or sockets mounted on or in skirting boards.
All our work is carried out to the current edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations and where necessary NICEIC certified and Part “P” registered.
You will also be issued with an NICEIC Bond and Warranty Certificate
Please go to our sections on the NICEIC and Part ’P’ to find out more information
The installation of showers should always be carried out by a qualified registered electrician as any work carried out in a “wet room” where taps, sinks, baths and showers are located require a legal certificate to be provided, as NICEIC Approved Contractors Bentley’s Electrical Services are able to offer you this facility.
A non-approved electrician should not carry this type of installation out.
Remember if a shower is incorrectly earthed this can be fatal
We can offer a full service for all types of outside electrical installations, whether it is outside lighting or running a supply for your garden pond.
Security and Outside Lighting
We can design and install remote control CCTV and Burglar Alarm Systems to give you complete peace of mind. Why not also install an LED security light complete with motion detector to act as a deterrent to unwelcomed visitors.
Fire Safety Precautions
Make sure you have smoke and heat detectors installed, remember to test them regularly…..if you hear a continual ‘beeping’ noise the likelihood is they need new batteries
General Electrical Repairs and Maintenance
We are able to offer you a fully comprehensive repair and or maintenance service, small or large, whatever your needs we are sure we can help.
Similar to an Electrical Inspection and Test, however a report is purely visual. We carry out a visual inspection of the incoming system, fuse boards and cabling. We will survey a percentage of electrical accessories by opening them and visually inspecting them.
We will then prepare an Electrical Report based on this visual inspection and we will list any items found that do not conform to current regulations and what works are required to bring the installation up to the current regulations.
Inspection and Testing
We are able to offer Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) to all types of properties. This report will inform you of the condition of your electrical installation and any areas that do not conform to current regulations. You will be issued with a full EICR report stating any remedial works necessary to bring the installation to a satisfactory standard.
All reports issued are compliant to BS7671
Part “P” is a part of the Building Regulations which was introduced by the government in 2005 and affects all electrical work carried out in dwellings.
Part “P” has wide ranging implications when it comes to selling or renting your home, even taking out buildings insurance. The homeowner will be required to provide evidence in the form of certified paperwork that all the electrical work has been carried out to BS7671.
